Upcoming 2013 Events
The North American Chapter of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease held its first organizational meeting in Houston, Texas on March 15, 2009 in conjunction with the 19th Biennial Conference on Diseases of the Vulva and Vagina. The International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease approved the charter for the North American Chapter on September 17, 2009 at the XX World Congress in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The second meeting of the NA Chapter was held in conjunction with the 20th Biennial Conference on Diseases of the Vulva and Vagina, held in Chicago, IL in October 2010. Future meetings of the NA Chapter will be held in conjuction with the Biennial Conference which will be held during the 'even' years with the next one planned for Fall 2014, also in Chicago, IL.

- To promote communication and fellowship among gynecologists, pathologists, dermatologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- To promote clinical investigation, basic research, and dissemination of knowledge in this field.
- To promote an interest in vulvovaginal disease and foster the development of clinicians and researchers.

TWO SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED TO ATTEND THE XXII WORLD CONGRESS OF THE ISSVD
The North American Chapter of The International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) is encouraging health care providers who have recently developed an interest in vulvovaginal disease to attend the upcoming World Congress of the Society. This scientific meeting will be held on board the Navigator of the Seas, on a Royal Caribbean 7-night Mediterranean cruise. The ship departs from Rome, Italy on October 6, 2013 and returns on October 13, 2013, also to Rome.
Two scholarships will be awarded to two individuals who demonstrate promise to promote knowledge in diseases of the vulva and vagina. In order to qualify, you must be a recent graduate (within 5 years) or a current resident. A supporting letter will be required. Each individual will receive funds to cover round-trip coach airfare and a stateroom onboard the cruise. The tuition for the World Congress will be paid by the North American Chapter of the ISSVD. The scholarships may be awarded to non-members of the ISSVD although, once selected to participate, you would be expected to join the ISSVD and pay a $150 membership dues ($150 initiation fee will be waived). It is suggested that you present an abstract at the meeting.
Applications should consist of a paragraph (150 words maximum) describing why you deserve this award, along with a copy of your curriculum vitae and supporting letter from your department chair. Participants with interest in vulvovaginal conditions from all parts of North American are encouraged to apply for these awards.

The Membership shall consist of gynecologists, dermatologists, pathologists, and other individuals who have an interest in disciplines related to vulvovaginal diseases. Membership is restricted to healthcare professionals. In order to maintain membership within the Chapter, a member must also become a member or fellow of the ISSVD within two years of joining the Chapter. Attendance at one (1) meeting of every three (3) is required of every Member in order to continue as a member in good standing.
Members will have an application on file and have paid dues. Privileges-Any Member who also maintains membership in the ISSVD shall enjoy all the privileges of the Chapter, including the right to vote and hold office. Any member who does not also belong to the ISSVD may not hold office or vote.

To remain a member in good standing you must pay a $50 annual dues payment (invoices mailed annually in October for the upcoming year). Payable online through the ISSVD website or by email/faxing information.
